I've been told by many clients and families that I have a way of putting people at ease and making a comfortable space for them to talk.

About My Clients

My primary therapeutic focus is working with youth and young adults who are dealing with Psychosis. It could be that they are currently just at high risk for developing Psychosis (Clinical High Risk for Psychosis [CHRP]), perhaps have recently received a diagnosis (Early Onset Psychosis), or may have been working on their recovery journey for a while. It's vital to me that I give them hope to see they can get to a better place in life with the right tools and guidance.

My Background and Approach

I have been working with people who live with Psychosis for over 20 years. I have specialty training in several modalities of therapy that are specifically for individuals living with Psychosis. I also like to work with the families of these young individuals to help them understand more about Psychosis and how they can best support their loved one. In addition to multiple unique therapeutic approaches, I also offer services such as Life Skills Mentoring and Health Advocacy. As a Life Skills Mentor, I work with the client to develop routines, habits, and plans that will help them be successful in independent living. As a Health Advocate, I engage my vast knowledge of the healthcare system to ensure that the client has a team of providers all working towards the same goals. I attend appointments with the clients and help them learn how to advocate for themselves as patients, as well as develop trusting relationships with their providers.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

For years I have done advocacy work for many causes that are near and dear to my heart, including mental health. The core values of Conversations Therapy reflect our respect for the individuality of every client: Integrity, Equity, and Benevolence. I also mentor young professionals who are wanting to move up in their careers to help guide them to resources they may not know are available to them. I served on both an Anti-Racism Sub-Committee that was tasked with how to educate people more effectively about racial inequities, and I served on the overarching Anti-Racism Advocacy Committee that did planning and organizing for the sub-committees. On several occasions I also Facilitated and Co-Facilitated confidential employee groups where people could freely talk about their experiences with inequities, of any kind, in the workplace.
