About My Clients
I enjoy working individually with adults and teens. My areas of specialty include complicated grief, trauma, life transitions, addiction, anxiety, depression and chronic mental illness. I also provide Christ-centered therapy, spiritually integrated therapy, and consultation for individuals and families around sexuality and gender identity. Christ-centered services provided only upon request.
My Background and Approach
With utmost respect for your thoughts, feelings and ideas, we will work together to find ways to manage the challenges you face and continue forward with a firm foundation under your feet and a light for your path. Safely sharing with someone you can trust and who will listen without judgment helps to regain or maintain your footing. Our first appointment will be spent learning about you and the challenges you are facing. Together we will identify your goals for counseling and the best way to work toward them. My style is eclectic and meant to fit who you are and what you need. Theories I tend to work from include but are not limited to cognitive-behavioral theory, EMDR, insight-oriented, acceptance and commitment theory, systems theory, and polyvagal theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider it sacred and an honor to figuratively walk with people during challenging times in their lives or offer a safe space for continued reflection and growth. I desire to be of service and empower people to flourish in their lives. I believe that therapy is a healing place to grow and learn, and for some it's the first place they feel safe, heard, and understood. There is great power in therapeutic relationships. I've seen people work hard and move forward with new confidence, purpose, and meaning in their lives. I also believe music and the arts are good for the soul, so don't be surprised if I am curious about what music you enjoy, if you can draw, if you like to dance, or enjoy writing.
