About My Clients
I work with a range of clients from all walks of life including members of the LGBTQ+ community specifically folks who identify as lesbian or trans, BIPOC individuals, older adults, teenagers, and so on. I work with people to navigate difficult periods of their lives or get back in touch with themselves.
My Background and Approach
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's in Social Work. I have several years of experience as a community organizer and have worked with women and children, trans/gender-expansive folks, members of the drag community, kinky and poly folks, people living with HIV, and people who are experiencing family/relationship challenges. I am trained in harm reduction, cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoanalytic theory, and experiential therapy. I am currently being trained in acceptance and commitment therapy and neurodivergent affirming practices. I hope to expand to offer movement, somatic, and art therapy in the future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am originally from Hawai'i and have a diverse personal and professional background. I strongly believe in a community-oriented, non-Western approach to therapeutic practices. I aim to understand my client's perspectives and help them identify what their ideal healing journey is. I focus on creating a safe space where clients are encouraged to express themselves, explore their identity, and practice interpersonal skills such as boundary-setting.
