Dixie provides trauma-informed, evidence-based and multicultural psychotherapeutic counseling. She works with children, adolescents, families and couples, with psychological profiles ranging from moderate anxiety to severe and persistent mental illness.
My Background and Approach
Dixie seeks to create safe emotional spaces of exploration, understanding, attunement and healing. Her approach to the therapeutic encounter aims to be non-stigmatizing, integrative and adaptive. Dixie earned her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Hunter College in Psychology and Art History. She completed her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling with the Colin Powell School of Civic and Global Leadership at City College in 2021 and is a proud recipient of the Hunter College Graduate Scholarship. Dixie received training as a psychiatric intern at the inpatient unit of Lenox Hill Hospital, and later as a Clinical Intern with Dwellness, where she is now a full-time staff clinician.
