About My Clients
My clients took the biggest step of their lives, to not use drugs/alcohol again yet now are faced with LIFE. They have been in addiction recovery for more than six months, are going through changes in their life and their relationships and are having difficulty adjusting and/or feeling impacted by them, and are looking to shift negative self-beliefs and engage in healthier relationship patterns.
My Background and Approach
I am a trauma-informed, person-centered, and strength-based therapist. This means that I see you as you are for the human you are. I utilize different therapeutic modalities to assist you in your journey of self-love such as: EMDR, TIR, Ego State Therapy, DBT, Mindfulness-Based CBT, and Trauma-Informed Yoga, amongst others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I hold space for humans to remember they are human. So much of our lives can be afflicted by family, work, stress, childhood history, etc and at some point, we have forgotten to normalize these afflictions. It is not what's wrong with you but what's happened to you. This is the kind of space that I facilitate, a space where you can welcome yourself as you are without needing to put up a front. I was once there myself where I felt shame about my past and the meaning I gave it. Through my own therapy and community, I have navigated the turbulent waters of shame, depression, and anxiety. I am also here to remind you that you can still have days in your recovery that are harder and it doesn't mean you've regressed, it simply means you are human and healing is the daily cleansing of pain. As a social worker, it is part of my core values and code of ethics to give back and advocate for the most vulnerable. More info on my advocacy and special projects are listed on my website.
