About My Clients
I work on a variety of topics and concerns with adult clients, but have a special interest and experience in working with neurodiverse women - especially those diagnosed later in life! I love working with LGBTQIA + individuals and exploring how queerness affects the ways we see the world and the world sees us! My ideal client might be a little skeptical about opening up to a therapist, but will give it a chance!
My Background and Approach
I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Austin Peay State University in 2020 and became fully licensed as a counselor in 2023. My approach is very eclectic - you are an individual and your therapeutic journey will not be one size fits all - but I put a lot of focus on Cognitive Behavioral techniques as well as Narrative and Feminist therapy. I seek to provide my clients with an experience of being actively listened to and heard and then empowered to explore new ideas and try new things. I have a lot of experience working with neurodivergence, college students, young adults in transition, and the queer community. I always work with my clients to find a customized approach that resonates with them. Therapy is a path walked together. I will not act as if I'm an expert on your life! (Also, I always put a little humor into my work with clients... what is life without laughter?)
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that marginalized populations should be given the chance to be empowered and advocate for themselves as well as having people with privilege amplifying their voices. I am happy to work with all walks of life and will always advocate for equality.
