My Background and Approach
I believe that counseling approaches should be as unique as my client. I view counseling from a cognitive lens, but I also understand that the process of change involves more than just thinking about the change. Counseling as a collaborative relationship and I feel that the work we do together should be based on addressing your needs in a way that works for you. I constantly seek knowledge and training to learn techniques that will help my clients. We will work together using various skills that will help you to build resilience in the face of those things that bring you down. My overall goal is to equip you with the tools you need to overcome your presenting concerns and combat the reoccurrence should they present in the future.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that growth and change are constant in our lives. This growth can be preceded by difficulty or hard times that may be hard to handle. I feel that we can learn behaviors and points of view that may make it hard for us to see the potential in the challenges we face. I personally have faced issued with negative thinking and have been able to learn to combat these thought processes through the help of counseling. I want to help others find the techniques that allow them to overcome their negative thought processes and replace those with more positivity. I view life as a wave and feel that we can either fight the wave and be overtaken or enjoy the ride.
