About My Clients
The clients I work with don't fit a specific mold, but rather come to therapy from all walks of life. By operating from a Eclectic counseling approach, I meet my clients where they are at and build a strong relationship and foundation with them, before I integrate various interventions and modalities. You are the one who knows yourself the best, and I am excited to be someone to hold your hand and walk with you as you travel to various parts of yourself, both the comfortable and uncomfortable.
My Background and Approach
From a young age, I knew that my goal in life was to be an active listener and advocate for other’s ability to express their feelings/emotions, thoughts, needs, and wants. I received my M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020 and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I’ve gained experience in a variety of settings including PK-12 Education, Higher Education, Salvation Army Family Residence, and non-profits. I work with individuals ages 14+ through life adjustments, self-discovery, LGBTQIA+ concerns, anxiety, depression, body image, stress, couples/relationships, religious/spiritual trauma, burn-out, career counseling, abuse/trauma, parenting concerns, attachment styles, self-care, and mindfulness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My belief and passion for mental health support and advocacy was rooted in not being heard, seen, and able to access resources growing up. As an adult, I knew that I wanted to join the fight to break down barriers for individuals who don't have access to the support and advocacy for their mental health needs. I believe all deserve a space to process and share their innermost struggles and concerns without fear of judgment, punishment, prejudice, or shame. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and supporter of Black Lives Matters, women's rights, Native American, and BIPOC initiatives. I also recognize and respect Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land and the enduring relationship that exists between them and their traditional territories.
