Are you nervous about therapy and what all it entails? It CAN be as easy as having conversations with a splash of emotions! I aim to build new ways of thinking about our so called “problems”, and giving them new meanings. Often, setbacks or struggles in life are just an opportunity for a comeback- for growth. I hope to help you find greater understanding, a listening ear, and be a part of problem solving if/when you need it.
My Background and Approach
I am a LCSW- a social worker by trade and heart. I've been in the therapy/social work field for about 6 years now! CBT, DBT, and solution focused therapy modalities are my go to's. This can include exploring how perceive things, noticing behavior patterns, figuring out our own strengths to best benefit ourselves, and learning coping skills to actively practice with dialectical thinking. This can be done by discussion, basic worksheets, and visualizations. I have great experience working with teens and families, although working much more with young adults now and within the last year. I try to make therapy as easy going as possible, whether that be incorporating humor or making therapy seem more like an easy, emotional conversation about our days and recent struggles! We will always go at your own pace- you're the best judge and knowledgable person of your own story!
