About My Clients

My clients are ready for a change, for greater quality of life and self-knowledge. They're eager to express, discover, feel and find more out of life and themselves. They show up with the courage to delve into the unknown, a willingness to face shadows, struggles, experiences, emotions, and existential pain in order to better understand, heal, and grow. Many of my clients experienced sexual assault and abuse in their past, came from dysfunctional family dynamics, and are highly sensitive people.

My Background and Approach

Before entering the mental health field, I was a high school teacher, a bodyworker and yoga teacher, and an executive director in the nonprofit realm. I knew that this journey of holding space for others and their healing as a therapist would require me to evolve into a strong, compassion-rooted person with life experience and training that could meet people where they are and support them in moving forward. I have a lifelong passion for holistic health and integrate somatic therapies, nutritional healing, and wellness into my approach as a therapist. I have advanced training in working with adult children of alcoholics, in trauma-oriented treatment, DBT, Internal Family Systems, and gender-affirming approaches to clinical care. I took advanced coursework in marriage and family therapy and utilize a collaborative couples approach -- rooted in nonviolent communication -- in my work with couples. My style is nonjudgmental, informative, supportive, and psychodynamic.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a member of the LGBTQ community and actively involved in the BLM movement. The specific, marginalized, targeted groups most impacted by the 2024 presidential election are of great concern and priority to me in my practice as a therapist. It is important to me to create an unbiased, affirming, affordable, and empowering space for those individuals who face widespread oppression to be met with acceptance, respect, and effective clinical mental health care. I volunteered for five years on a sexual assault crisis line and as a direct response advocate for victims of sexual assault. I care about being a part of their healing and their safety and in giving back to my community by educating about sexual assault prevention, policy, and advocacy.
