About My Clients
I primarily work with adults struggling with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders. My clients often recognize that what's going on isn't working anymore but might not know the way out. We work together to determine how these behaviors are helping/hurting, what we could do differently, and design recovery to what you want it to be.
My Background and Approach
I have been a therapist since 2013 and have worked with eating disorders at all levels of care, including as the director of a PHP/IOP and an outpatient mental health clinic. Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all, so the definition of that is going to look different for everyone as well. My approach comes from a Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy model. This means identifying irrational core beliefs that we hold ("I'm unworthy. I'm not good enough. I deserve bad things to happen to me.") and replacing them with more rational ones ("I may struggle, and that's okay. I can be gentle with myself."). I also incorporate CBT and DBT skills into session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I practice from a Health at Every Size perspective, which means that I do not believe you can judge a person's health based on their size. I also am anti-diet culture and work on challenging internalized
