About My Clients
My clients tend to have some factors in common: They are high-functioning and motivated. They have tried to figure things out on their own, yet they still aren’t thriving. They help and care for others, but they are reluctant to ask for help themselves. They often deal with depressed mood and/or anxiety. If that sounds like you, let’s chat.
My Background and Approach
I have specialized in working with college students and LGBTQ+ folks. Aside from those populations, I consider myself to be more of a generalist than a specialist. My clinical strengths fall more under the miscellaneous concerns that are part of life: family/romantic/interpersonal relationships, navigating college/careers, the process of exploring, understanding, and accepting yourself, etc. My work is frequently more about a holistic view of the person than it is about a particular diagnosis. My most effective tool as a clinician is bringing my full, authentic self to our sessions. That translates into a humanistic or client-centered approach: warmth and unconditional acceptance, being genuine and transparent, and striving to understand you and your experiences by asking questions and by using empathy.
