About My Clients
My ideal clients are males who are struggling with the process of coming out or are adjusting to the impact their sexual orientation has on their relationships. My goal is for my practice to be warm, friendly, and inviting for my clients so they will feel safe to discuss their current concerns with me and goals they would like to achieve in therapy.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have worked with a wide variety of individuals and families in various settings, including schools, community agencies, county mental health, and residential treatment centers for children and adolescents. I have a lot of experience in working with adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, and stress management. I use a strength-based, solution-focused approach in my practice, and I also utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I came out as gay in 2015 and have been an active member of the LGBTQ community since then. I also am volunteering as a mentor in the LGBTQ community. I am an open-minded individual who strives to understand my clients and see them as the experts on themselves and the areas of their life where they are not feeling as fulfilled. I also am liberal and believe all human beings deserve to be treated as equals with the same basic rights, and I advocate for equity and inclusion of all human beings.
