My Background and Approach
I have flexible set of tools & techniques that I use, because I know that everyone is different, even if some of the things we are struggling with are similar. I'm here to give you a fully safe space where you don't feel judged & can truly think through all your doubts, fears, and concerns with someone who's there to support you. I open a honest and direct dialogue as I would like to be present in the way that's most beneficial, & makes the most sense for YOU. Whether you need me to be direct, gentle or firm - I will co-create what's needed together. You have a lot of powerful knowledge and skills that I want to help you refine. My goal is to help develop or refine some tools that you can use anywhere to help manage anxiety and depression, as well as helping you look deep within to unlock your natural confidence and trust in yourself. I don't believe therapy is something you have to do forever. You've got the power to be your own best advocate - I want to help you get there
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that change is as powerful as it can be scary! Through change I know there is so much potential we have to grow and learn. Throughout my life, I have learned to work with my own depression and anxiety through my own therapeutic experiences. While I always experienced a level of anxiety, as a queer latiné person, going to college unleashed a lot more insecurity, feelings of inferiority and deepened my experience of intense panic attacks and depressive episodes. I am married to a wonderful woman, and am a strong supporter of my LGBTQIA+ community. I have created and run Queer ERG spaces in my previous places of employments as I believe it's crucial to have connection to community and safe spaces to unpack what may be going on for us. Through a lot of personal work, I have developed skills and tools that have helped me manage my anxiety and depression. I have never felt freer in continuing to explore all my identities, and am hoping to help you feel the same!
