About My Clients
My speciality areas include relationship concerns (romantic, parental, friends, workplace, etc.), trauma, identity development (LGBTQ2S+, disabilities, etc.), and neurodivergence. Emotional discomfort should be guiding, not debilitating. Sometimes we spend so much energy accommodating the people around us, we forget to ask, "what do I want?" I most enjoy working with clients who are unlearning patterns of people-pleasing, who want to get unstuck from frustrating cycles.
My Background and Approach
I strongly believe that all aspects of our life are improved when we learn to reject the mold and lead our most authentic lives. I offer an integrative, warm, and personable approach to therapy because I believe that every journey is unique, and that you are the expert on you. I'm a forensic psychologist by training, but my current practice is focused on modalities that are trauma-informed and compassionate. I use a lot of values-based theories in my work with clients, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative, feminist, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). That said, my style is integrative and I tailor my approach to each client - no therapy looks the same across all clients!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have strong commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and equality. As an LGBTQ+ therapist, I'm happiest when we can come together to celebrate our diversity, promote inclusivity, and recognize the progress made while still reflecting on the work that lies ahead. Personally, it’s special to me to be included in work that actively fosters and encourages folx to thrive as their authentic selves.
