About My Clients
While we don't have a say in whether we've experienced trauma or grief, we do have a choice in how we build a meaningful life going forward. If you have been struggling with substance use directly, or have been affected as a family member or partner, help is available.
My Background and Approach
Individualized care and treatment is tailored to your specific needs. My approach is collaborative and warm, aiming to create a balance between feeling safe yet challenged in therapy. My practice focuses on themes of living a life of authenticity and connection driven by a better understanding of your personal values and emotional needs. As a former university counselor, I will always have an affinity for working with college students. My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I've been a member of the recovery community for years and understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach, nor is recovery a straight line for most. As someone who has worked in hospice, and experienced the loss of a loved one, I know grief comes in waves and can be bewildering and excruciating. I never bought into the saying that "time heals all wounds..." Its' what we DO with that time. Creating a "new normal" may take time, but you don't have to do it alone.
