About My Clients
I think mental health is important for all people, no matter your background. Over the years, I have worked with children, teens, adults, and people from all socio-economic backgrounds. I have worked with many people suffering from Depression, Anxiety, and Complex Trauma. I believe in making therapy affordable for everyone, and I use mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to get reimbursed. Check here: mentaya.co/b/jessicacohan
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Pepperdine University with an MA in Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I did my graduate training at Para Los Ninos in downtown Los Angeles. After graduation, I worked at Children's Institute Inc in Compton. I worked with adults trying to go back into the workforce. I also worked with children who were in foster care, their caregivers, and their parents. My approach is this: I will meet you where you are at, and I will work with you to meet your therapeutic goals, whether it is to reduce your depressive symptoms, process your trauma, or reframe your negative thoughts.
