About My Clients
I enjoy working with people who are looking to strengthen the relationships in their life—such relationships may be with people (partners, friends, family, communities, etc), your work, studies or creative/artistic endeavors, your relationship with some or all parts of yourself, and beyond. I integrate mindfulness-based and somatic (mind-body) interventions into sessions, and will always invite your spiritual self and creativity into the process.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is holistic, mind-body oriented, relational and rooted in the “here and now”. In our work together, I will emphasize collaboration, transparency, and consent as we bring awareness to, and explore different parts of your self and experience. In more technical terms, my training is in mindfulness-based transpersonal counseling, and gestalt therapy. The transpersonal is a whole-person, integrative approach to therapy that emphasizes connection; this connection extends to our deepest selves, our bodies, to other beings, and beyond. Gestalt therapy focuses on the ways in which we have become disconnected from ourselves, and how that has led to ruptures, difficulties, and suffering in our lives. These ruptures are protective measures we have implemented to shield us from the pain of trauma, unmet needs, systemic oppression, dysfunctional relationships, etc. In our work together, we will explore these ruptures to find ways for you to reconnect to your wholeness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all possess a fundamental wholeness and inner wisdom—sometimes we just become disconnected from these parts of our self. In a society that constantly tells us that we are wrong, broken, or not enough, therapy is a radical act that invites us to show up just as we are, in all our beautiful messiness, uniqueness and identities. It is important to me to hold a compassionate, trauma-informed, and nonjudgmental healing space where you feel safe and uplifted; one in which you are comfortable, yet can be with your discomfort; where you can turn towards your pain, and still find your joy, excitement and laughter. It is with warmth and humility that I say what an absolute honor it is to be alongside you in this journey. Together, we will begin right where you are.
