About My Clients
My approach to helping others is that of building a collaborative relationship between myself and the client, as I believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential for positive change. While I draw on principles of CBT, DBT, EMDR, and IFS in my interventions I believe that therapy should be unique to the needs of the individual.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor licensed in The state of Ohio. I am trained in EMDR, and utilize CBT, DBT, and IFS in my collaborative work with clients. I have spent most of my career working with children, teens and adults who struggle with trauma, substance use disorder, and eating disorders. I also have experience working with race based-trauma, LGBTQ+, anxiety, depression, Personality Disorders, and self-esteem. I focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion and community advocacy. I focus on providing diverse client populations with culturally humble interventions respectful of ethnicity, race and culture.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of change, and that change occurs when the person is ready but also is equipped with the right support and tools. Change is hard and I am honored to be a part of that process in a collaborative, meaningful way. I am an LGBTQ+ ally, a part of the social justice movement, particularly Black Lives Matter, and belong to local organizations in my city advocating for LGBTQ+ and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to continue to advance the causes that are so important to me and my family.
