About My Clients
I work with BIPOC population. I utilize trauma informed practices and find that clients who have trauma in their background are frequently drawn to work with me because I do not shy away from what they're bringing with them. Because I am direct, I find that people who require direct communication are well-served by my approach.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Hofstra University with M.A in Mental Health Counseling, which has given me a thorough grounding in CBT. I worked for several years in community mental health working with chronically Ill mental health patients to function effectively in their life. I am specialized in treating mood disorder, anxiety, eating disorder, and phobia related challenges. My mission is to get her clients back out and enjoying the lives that they want to live. While the length of time that each client spends in therapy depends on several factors (the client’s schedule, the severity of his/her trauma, etc.), most clients will complete therapy within only 3 to 6 months. Then the client can use the skills and tools learned in therapy to enhance all aspects of his/her life, including relationships, work and other responsibilities, self-esteem/confidence, and overall outlook on life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I feel that each person deserves to live his/her life with minimal problems and maximum fulfillment—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I enjoy reading translated novels, gardening and walking in my leisure time.
