About My Clients
Katherane “Katy” Rackleff has over 10 years experience providing culturally sensitive mental health and advocacy services, both on the east and west coast. I have provided therapy to people experiencing homelessness, trauma survivors, and people with substance abuse issues. As a parent myself, I have a special interest in maternal/caregiver mental health and postpartum issues such as depression, anxiety, and OCD and/or intrusive thoughts.
My Background and Approach
I am a therapist and more specifically, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the state of California, which means I have a Masters degree in social work/therapy and 2 years of post-graduate supervised clinical experience. I have specialized experience in helping people heal from trauma and am certified in the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model (TF-CBT). I am also very inspired by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy and healing. I have experience with individuals, children and families, as well as groups.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a therapist who lives a sober lifestyle and is familiar with issues such as co-dependency. I have lived experience with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I bring a non-judgmental and open-minded attitude to session while also being compassionately direct about my observations. I identify as a white queer working class cis-gender parent. I try as much as possible to be an ally to communities oppressed by capitalism and white supremacy.
