About My Clients
I am passionate about working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life stages, with a particular focus on supporting teens and young adults who identify as LGBTQ+. My practice is rooted in a relational, community-oriented approach, where I believe that connection and understanding are key drivers of healing and recovery. I bring experience in addressing a broad range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, mood disorders, and addiction/addictive processes.
My Background and Approach
As an LICSW, I bring a foundation of professional expertise to my practice. However, I am also, first and foremost, a human being. I take a strong stance of mentalization, compassion, and harm reduction. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in diverse environments, including my most recent role as Clinical Director of a psychosocial rehabilitation program. These experiences have enriched my ability to work with individuals from many backgrounds and have become invaluable in shaping my therapeutic approach. In therapy, I integrate an interpersonal and relational framework, focusing on identity, context, and values to meet the unique needs of each client. I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all model of healing; rather, I believe that each person’s journey is distinct. My work emphasizes Harm Reduction, Mentalization-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to foster personal growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Social justice, equity, and transparency are foundational values in both my personal life and my practice as a therapist. I am attuned to the structural forces that shape individual behavior, and I believe it is crucial for us to understand the contexts in which we live in order to truly know ourselves and the meaning of our lives. I am committed to examining my own role within these structures and actively working to reduce the harm they may cause. I wholeheartedly invite you to come as you are. While I bring my own perspective to our work, I approach therapy with an open heart and a commitment to non-judgment. I will accept and support you for who you are, regardless of your past or the labels society has placed upon you. You deserve to heal, no matter where you've been or what you've been told.
