About My Clients
Are you looking for a safe, compassionate, space where you can explore challenges you may be facing? My goal is to support you to connect with your emotions, body sensations, and inner-wisdom. I offer holistic therapy which considers mind, body, and context. As an integrative therapist, I draw on various approaches to support clients with anxiety, mood concerns, childhood and complex trauma, relationship issues, people-pleasing, work stress, and life balance.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School and a Bachelor's in Psychology with an emphasis on human development. I have specific training in Somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS; "parts work"), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR (a trauma-processing modality). As an LPC, I ongoingly engage in continuing education to expand my understanding and skill set.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Rooted in Buddhism and other spiritual traditions, I draw on mindfulness and non-judgment practices in my work with clients. Practicing orienting to the present-moment can increase self-understanding, acceptance, and compassion. From there, the possibility of change emerges. I believe all people have dignity, inner wisdom and compassion. I work with clients to acknowledge the impact structures of power (e.g. capitalism, patriarchy) have had and continue to have on their lives. Understanding the context of individual struggles can help to reduce shame, self-blame, and allow for creative problem solving in stepping into our own power and building the communities we need.
