About My Clients
I help people who long to create meaning and connection in their lives, but worry they don’t know how, or want do it better. I work with adults and emerging adults and have a special interest in working with folks undergoing all kinds of life transitions or changes. I am a kink/poly-affirming practitioner and work with clients all along the LGBTQIA2S+ spectrum. People come to see me for anxiety, depression, adjusting to new life circumstances, or exploring what makes a vital, meaningful life.
My Background and Approach
I am currently a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland and a Provisional Registered Drama Therapist with the North American Drama Therapy Association. I hold a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and I have extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT). Drama Therapy uses techniques drawn from theatre, storytelling, performance, and writing to help you view your dilemmas in new ways. You don’t have to be an actor or performer to do drama therapy, you just have to bring a sense of curiosity and a willingness to experiment and play. At its heart, ACT posits that although life is full of hardship, we can better manage our hardships through developing mindful awareness of our experiences and emotions and moving toward what is important to us every day of our lives.
