About My Clients
I frequently work with folks who identify as queer and/or trans, folks navigating open and polyamorous relationships, folks exploring kink and fantasies, folks recovering from sexual and relational trauma, and folks healing from sexual pain. I work with people recovering from diet culture, fatphobia, body image issues, and eating disorders. I work with people finding subversive ways of disrupting and divesting from oppressive systems. We are reconnecting to pleasure together!
My Background and Approach
My work as a therapist in private practice is informed by my concurrent work as a mental health therapist at Quest Center for Integrative Health and as an adjunct instructor at Portland State University, where I teach Human Sexuality, Women’s Reproductive Health, and Maternal & Child Health. I have a BA in Peace & Conflict Studies from UC Berkeley, and my MPH and MSW are from Portland State University. I am a licensed clinical social worker through the state of Oregon and a Certified Sex Therapist through AASECT. I have received the core EMDR training and am happy to offer that as one way to address various kinds of trauma. In addition, I am a Certified Body Trust Provider through The Center for Body Trust and continue to deepen my awareness and understanding of weight inclusive and fat liberationist care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that our realities coexist and are valid even while they may contradict one another. Issues related to power, control, privilege, and oppression intersect and inform all of our relationships and impact our mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and sexual health. I strive to be aware of my privilege and specific identities (white, queer, cisgender, middle class, US born, English speaking) and how that interfaces with my clients’ identities.
