About My Clients
I work with children, teens, families, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, gender dysphoria, dissociation, disordered eating and negative body image, family estrangement, cult involvement, grief, and relationship problems.
My Background and Approach
As a counselor, I integrate many treatment modalities into treatment depending on client needs, such as art therapy, feminist therapies, relational cultural therapy, existential therapy, internal family systems, constructivist theories, and narrative therapy. I am under supervision working toward licensure.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I embrace my identity as a white, queer, gender nonconforming individual who was assigned female at birth and brought up in a family with racial, educational, and economic privilege. This multi-faceted identity constantly influences my personal life, relationships, and professional roles as a clinician. My therapeutic approach centers on acknowledging and respecting the entirety of my clients. I'm also committed to recognizing and addressing the potential impacts of my privilege and implicit biases on my work. In addition to my queer and gender nonconforming identity, I have personal experience with trauma, dissociation, chronic illness/pain. I warmly welcome clients from diverse backgrounds while acknowledging the privileges associated with some of my personal identities. I value open communication and authenticity in my counseling practice, and encouraging you to ask questions and express concerns.
