About My Clients

I never did use PemCo insurance but I've always been a fan of their old slogan - "we're a lot like you: a little different." You've probably found some solid strategies for moving through the world, but maybe they don't always feel helpful, or authentic, or maybe you're searching for connection and acceptance. I promise you can find it. Neurodiversity and complex trauma can make you feel like you're trying to jam a square peg into a round hole. My goal is to help you understand your shapes.

My Background and Approach

Neurodiveristy-affirming, trauma-informed, and brain-nerdy. I'd like to help you understand how your brain works, and then give you the tools you need to help it help you. A lot of us walk around all day trying so hard to be *something* that it can be hard to give ourselves permission to just *be* in the first place. I want to give you a space where you can be the human animal you are, whatever that means to you. I take a trauma-informed approach. That doesn't mean you have to share the details of your trauma with me - not unless you want to. It does mean I'm curious what strategies you've used to get by, and how you want to approach those strategies today. I love parts work - you are complex and multifaceted and dangit if I don't think that's beautiful. Finally, my background in social work means I want to help you zoom out to see the different systems that influence the way you move through the world, to help you see where you are today.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm a true believer in neurodiversity: we really do need all kinds of people, and all kinds of brains. But a lot of us are pressured into being different than actually feels authentic for us. I believe that the way you are is a solid way to be. That you're worthy of respect and love. Whatever you bring to the table: autistic, ADHD, queer, gender diverse, poly, kinky, I want to see you and help you see yourself. Whatever challenges you're facing: anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, loneliness, dissociation, figuring out who you are and where you're going - I'm happy to walk with you. I believe in using evidence, but not to the exclusion of compassion or experimentation. I love somatic practices and finding different ways to wiggle. If you want to learn more about what I do, or if you'd like me to learn more about you, shoot me a message!
