About My Clients
My practice is affirming and supportive for gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity (GSRD) from early adulthood to later life. With a nurturing and non-judgmental approach, I help individuals and relationships explore their desires, overcome obstacles, and create fulfilling sexual and relational lives. I aim to provide a grounded and warm space for clients to explore the parts of themselves that are challenging to sit with alone.
My Background and Approach
I have a masters in Counseling Psychology from Golden Gate University. I have completed training as a Sex Therapist and Sexuality Coach & Consultant through the Sexual Health Alliance. Additionally, I have completed Level 1 training as a Gottman Method Couples Therapist. Before Grateful Heart, I completed a year-long psychotherapy traineeship at the Pacific Center for Human Growth in Berkeley CA primarily serving the queer community through individual, relationship, and group psychotherapy services. I have also volunteered as a crisis counselor for the Trevor Project as well as a psychedelic peer support sitter for the Zendo Project at Burning Man. No topics or experiences are "too-much" in my therapy room. I move with you at your pace and love incorporating your feedback into our sessions. I will meet you wherever you are at each session. I embrace a "here and now" gestalt approach while incorporating evidence-based practices. See my website for more details!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Establishing a therapeutic relationship requires vulnerability and trust. I want to offer my positionality in an effort to acknowledge the power, privilege, and perspective I am bringing into the therapy room using the BOLD ADDRESSING model from Roger Kuhn, PhD. I am a perpetual student, educator, and healer with a strong desire to research, experience, and better understand relationships and the human condition. I live in a white, short-statured, athletic body on unceded Lisjan Ohlone land within a multi-family community home. I am settling into early middle age with an acquired chronic pain disability. I am a former Christian with an open-mind towards spirituality and practices of Buddhism while holding an agnostic worldview. I am a 8th generation American with family lineage predominantly from the England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Germany. I identify as a pansexual, genderqueer femme who holds non monogamous relationship structures.
