About My Clients
Sometimes you need to feel seen and validated. I have a deep commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, I bring experience in working with diverse identities, gender expressions, and life journeys. I also share my passion for helping future LGBTQIA+ social workers and seasoned social workers manage the duality of being part of a marginalized community while serving others.
My Background and Approach
I'm a licensed clinical social worker and hold a personnel pupil services credential in school social work. I also have my doctorate in social work. I've been working within a social work capacity for close to 20 years with adolescents and young adults. My approach to therapy is centered around you and your needs. I believe that warmth and empathy are the cornerstone of building a genuine connection. We will approach therapy together, in a way that feels right for you. We’ll focus on what truly matters to you and move at a pace that feels comfortable, working side-by-side to help you reach your goals in a way that aligns with who you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I believe that every individual deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated for who they are. My lived experience informs my unwavering commitment to creating spaces that affirm identity, foster belonging, and empower voices that have long been silenced. I view advocacy for social justice as not just a responsibility but a privilege. It requires humility, courage, and continuous self-reflection. I am committed to challenging systems of oppression, amplifying marginalized voices, and working collaboratively toward a more equitable and inclusive society. Valuing diversity, equity, and inclusion is central to my personal and professional life. I believe that diversity is a strength that enriches us all, and equity is the path to realizing justice. True inclusion is not merely inviting others into a space but reshaping the space so everyone feels they belong. These beliefs guide my work, relationships, and ongoing journey as an ally and advocacy.
