About My Clients
I believe that meeting each person where they are and taking an individualized, client-centered approach is the key to addressing and relieving even the most intense issues. With over 15 years of experience of working with children and young adults from diverse backgrounds, I am passionate about helping my clients grow and thrive through traditional and play-based therapy.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CO, VT & FL and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). I have gained over 15 years of counseling experience working with a diverse population of children and families in Hawai'i, NYC and Colorado. I am passionate about helping children, young adults and families grow and thrive through traditional and play-based therapy. Needing help is normal and I have helped many move through challenges to find stability and joy. I am passionate about helping children and teens with anxiety, ADHD, anger, and behavioral issues. I work with children and teens on processing trauma, building social skills, and coping with big life transitions. I believe that a collaborative approach is most effective! I also offer coaching and collaboration with parents, caregivers, and schools.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started my counseling career in Hawai'i as a counselor at an alternative-type school for children with severe behavioral concerns and then relocated to New York City (Brooklyn, then Astoria, Queens), before landing here in Colorado a few years ago. Living and working in locations like Hawai'i and NYC, that have such a rich diversity, has helped me gain insight and empathy for the struggles immigrants, POC and people struggling with financial hardships face. I am passionate about supporting children and families in need, particularly underserved populations. In my free time, I am passionate about animal rescue! I have volunteered with local rescues and fostered many kittens and puppies before adopting my own rescue cat (Wasabi) and dog (Hendrix).
