About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed and burnt out? Are you bracing for impact with your next big transition, whether it is leaving an impossible job, welcoming a baby, or moving to another country? Is understanding the neuroscience and nervous system important to you in your therapy? I am passionate about creating connection and sustainability for those living and working with chronic stress or trauma, especially other healers and helpers who find themselves working in the trenches.
My Background and Approach
Most of my therapy work is centered in knowledge about relational neuroscience, attachment science, systems work, and integrating the body into treatment, although all therapy is tailored for each person’s unique needs. Kirsti Reese is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) seeing clients in both Texas and Tennessee. She is a Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT), Certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist & Consultant, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C), Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), Theraplay Practitioner, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and Prenatal/Perinatal Yoga Teacher. Kirsti is currently completing her certification towards Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Reaching out can be so hard, but it is such an important first step! We are not made to do the hard things alone and more and more research is showing that we are deeply wired for connection and support. I believe hope and healing is possible for every person, even in the hardest seasons of life. While different seasons in our lives have different needs and speeds, we know that every individual is capable of connection, healing, and wholeness with the right support. Science has shown us time and time again how adaptive our bodies and brains are as they change to manage the stress or trauma of our lived experiences. Therapy is about moving towards healing and growth as we learn to trust ourselves.
