About My Clients
One of my favorite things I get to do as a therapist is meet a variety of people and help them live authentically. Sex therapy is a type of talk therapy aiming to alleviate physical and emotional roadblocks to sexual satisfaction. I currently provide therapy for individuals and couples/relationships. Sex and sexuality are often associated with shame. If you find yourself navigating these feelings, you’re not alone. Sexual dysfunction is a common problem among all genders and sexualities.
My Background and Approach
I chose a career in social work after having served over 9 years in the U.S. Army. While serving, I was exposed to people struggling with mental illness. Those experiences helped me realize that this was where I was wanting to serve next in my career. I graduated from New York University in May 2020 with a master's in social work (MSW). During my internship, I worked with an interdisciplinary team serving clients who have frequent contact with the mental health, criminal justice, and homeless services systems, recent behavior that is unsafe and escalating, and those poorly served by outpatient settings. The primary diagnosis for the team's participants was schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, and co-occurring substance use. After relocating to Washington, I continued working with those living with severe and persistent mental illness in a community mental health agency. I currently provide sex therapy for individuals and couples/relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It’s important to have a space where we can talk about our concerns and desires that is non-judgmental, knowledgeable, and supportive in order to have a fulfilling and healthy sex life, whether that is by yourself, with others, or not at all (asexuality is real!).
