About My Clients
I primarily work with couples, individuals and families who desire to have healthier relationships and want a greater sense of satisfaction from life. Some people have never been to counseling and don't know what to expect. Others have had negative experiences with people they've confided in the past that make them hesitant to put themselves out there again. I am here to make it as easy for you as possible. I will walk you through the process, and answer any questions along the way.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in providing trauma-informed and affirming therapy for the LBGTQIA+, polyamorous/CNM, and kink communities, survivors of abuse (sexual assault, intimate partner violence, childhood abuse) and historically underserved and oppressed communities. My clients work with me through recovery and beyond into building and maintaining healthy relationships throughout life. I see my role as a therapist as being empowering, kind, non-judgmental, and supportive in order to create a safe environment which facilitates maximum healing and growth for each individual. I use an integrative and collaborative approach to psychotherapy, meaning, I utilize interventions from varying schools of thought based on each individual client’s needs. I frequently draw from therapies including: Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
