About My Clients
Do you feel strange, uncomfortable, different, or unlovable? Have you been made to believe that your lived experience does not matter, or simply haven't seen yourself reflected in the world around you? I would be honored to be a listening ear and help you to understand yourself, your needs and desires. No topic is off the table or too taboo for my office. Together, you and I will figure out what's really going on. It would be my privilege to help you find the words to tell your authentic story.
My Background and Approach
As a proudly non-binary, queer immigrant, and therapist, I deeply value inclusivity and am committed to providing care for people who have historically been excluded by mental health professionals. I tailor my approach for your unique positionality and circumstances. Our work together will be lead by curiosity and respect for your lived experience and burgeoning identity. We can play with ideas, look from every angle, to see a path forward where there may have previously been a block. Shifting your understanding of yourself will change the way you move through the world and alter your relationships, often for the better. I am both reflective and directive in session. I strongly believe in learning, knowledge and resource sharing. Therefore, I will always provide clients with books, podcasts, worksheets and other activities should they ask me to.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I got my Bachelor's degree in technical theater and am especially passionate about providing support for artists and entertainment industry professionals. I've been there, I have freelanced, and I have unique insight into what it means to pursue your passions in the entertainment industry. In our increasingly data-driven society, where the measurable and visible aspects of life often receive higher validation and credibility, the significance of self-aware, subjective experience is diminishing. This leads to a denial of desire, suppression of play and a culture of shame. As a former actor, I have seen through improvisation and storytelling how powerful leaving room for uncertainty and possibility can be. An antidote to the isolation and disconnection inherent in psychological suffering thus emerges by being collaborative and connecting with like-minded peers. In this lies the art of therapy. Let me blend my creative and therapeutic skillsets together in order to hold space for you.
