About My Clients

Do you want to explore your identity, connect with your culture, or get support for an adolescent in your life? I am here to help. I am passionate about helping you heal in a culturally responsive, trauma informed environment. I support clients navigating generalized anxiety, low self-esteem, intergenerational trauma, dating/sex anxiety, difficulty building trust, family conflict, anger/resentment, and codependency. I also provide therapy to queer, polyamorous, & bi/multiracial couples.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic style is person-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma informed. As my client, I will help you gain insight into the impact of past experiences and relationships on your present concerns. I honor my holistic, unique individuals and tailor our work together to your individual interests, needs, and goals. I also center identity and culture in my therapy approach, ensuring that all parts of you will be explored and held in your healing process. I encourage the use of humor and creative arts to help you connect with your inner child, address your inner critic, and embrace your authentic self. I also use ancestral and cultural healing, a process that helps you increase your connection with your cultural and familial heritage while healing trauma patterns that have been passed down. I often use techniques rooted in Existential Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, DBT, and Narrative Therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Growing up in a multicultural household taught me the importance of our cultural identities in our relationships and self-image. I am firm believer that each culture should be celebrated and understood, a right that colonization and imperialism has stolen from many peoples. I believe that we hold generations of cultural knowledge & strength that can help guide us in our daily lives. I am also committed to my own continuing anti-racist and anti-oppressive work in my daily life, my relationships, and my work as a therapist. As a queer trans man, I believe that non-conformity, authentic self-expression, and unabashed self-love are revolutionary acts in a society that pushes conformity. I am proud to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I believe in a non-carceral approach to therapy, accountability, and justice. Restorative and transformative justice is found in many cultures and can provide a useful framework for understanding harm and accountability.
