About My Clients
I thrive with couples struggling with emotional regulation, conflict, and intimacy issues. I love teaching clients about relational skills and science, but I make sure to balance the brainy stuff with the body. Our work together can increase your emotional awareness, negotiation skills, and your overall sense of emotional safety in your relationship(s). I also work with individuals and teens that may be struggling with with outside relationships or with their relationship with their self.
My Background and Approach
I studied Couples and Family Therapy at Seattle University and most of my post graduate training is focused on couples/relational work. In the therapy world I’m a bit of an anomaly: Not only am I thoroughly trained in couples therapy specifically, but I also really, really enjoy it. The theoretical perspectives that inform my practice include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Parts Work, Narrative Therapy, Gottman, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. From my perspective, The theoretical “Boss” of all of these frameworks is Attachment Theory, so no matter the language we’re using in session, we will almost always be working towards cultivating secure attachment to self and others.
