About My Clients

Many of my clients struggle with the leftovers of both "little T" & "big T" traumas. This may include anything from medical issues, assaults, abuse, chronic toxic stress, grief, generational, or chronic adversity. My clients have shared with me how refreshing it is that I don't just follow a textbook approach. Even when I challenge them, they still feel empowered & in control during our sessions. I believe therapy doesn’t have to be all serious & heavy, there’s room for humor & humanity, too!

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor & a Nationally Certified Counselor with a strong academic foundation & extensive training in trauma-focused therapy. I holds an M.S. in Community Mental Health Counseling from the University of Rochester & a B.A. in Psychology from the University at Buffalo. I am certified in Progressive Counting, and trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), & the Flash Technique. I worked for over four years at community mental health agencies serving high-risk populations & individuals in crisis. I recently transitioned to private practice where I use a personalized & evidence-based approach to therapy, blending methods to align with each client’s unique needs & goals. I value collaboration & actively seek client feedback to ensure the therapeutic process is both effective & empowering.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal and professional experience has given me a deep understanding of what it means to lose control and how to help you navigate that challenging feeling. I know what it is like to not be able to do certain things and feel different from everyone else in the room. This has enabled me to connect and empathize with those who are often marginalized. As a queer, physically disabled woman, I know the power of having a safe space. I know what it is like to be misunderstood and mislabeled, and I will continue to fight alongside you to increase understanding, help you release oppressive narratives, and reclaim your story. I have learned the importance of advocacy, inclusivity, and amplifying your voice so that you are a partner in your treatment!
