About My Clients
I work with clients who are suffering from anxiety and depression, who are experiencing PTSD or are looking to process and heal from trauma. I also work with individuals who are struggling with their self esteem or body image concerns. Supporting young adults through life transitions is something that I have experience with and deeply enjoy! I also enjoy working with people exploring anti-oppressive relationship structures that are queer, polyamorous, or kink friendly.
My Background and Approach
My approach is collaborative, warm, gently challenging and validating. I believe that we all have the innate ability to heal, grow, and break patterns, but sometimes we need support in gathering more tools to be able to do so. We often carry both our darkest moments, and experiences of excitement and joy alone. It is my belief that we heal through relationship. This is where we are able to reveal our truest selves and heal the wounds that we have both inherited and developed throughout our lives. I utilize tools from psychodynamic, emotion focused, and attachment based lenses. My approach to counseling is relational, meaning I will ask you to both notice how you relate to me in our sessions, and how you relate to your self and body. We will practice noticing physical sensations that arise in your body and make connections between our therapeutic relationship and how it might mirror other dynamics in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While therapy will not solve systemic oppression, it is a place that we can examine our role in those systems and how they impact our lives. I am committed to continually exploring my place in oppressive systems and how my identities interact with those of my clients. I try my best to make therapy accessible to everyone through offering sliding scale options for those paying out of pocket.
