About My Clients
My clients often feel that they have to put on a mask and fake a smile, but on the inside they are in a world of pain that very few people, if any, truly understand. Therapy is a place where that mask can safely come off. Having a chronic illness or disability is an isolating experience that comes with invalidation, discrimination, and grief. I have lived experience with chronic medical conditions and expertise in navigating these unique challenges for both patients and their caregivers.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to meet clients where they are at and work collaboratively on your goals for treatment. I use traditional talk therapy as well Accelerated Resolution Therapy, an eye movement therapy that uses bilateral stimulation to heal underlying traumas and phobias and change behaviors. My lived experience with chronic illness, chronic pain, and disability has motivated me to work with clients with chronic illness and their caregivers to help them navigate ableist systems. I use an eclectic approach that draws from your strengths, beliefs, place in society, creativity, and sense of humor. I also enjoy working with clients who have complex trauma and a history of unhealthy relationships.
