About My Clients
I have experience working with a wide range of individuals and issues. I particularly enjoy working with individuals in times of significant transition and those seeking to heal trauma and/or burnout. My areas of specialization include parental and perinatal mental health, treatment of trauma and stress related disorders, grief and loss, and providing affirming treatment for LGBTQ+ individuals. I hold certifications in perinatal mental health, EMDR therapy, and hospice and palliative care.
My Background and Approach
My style as a therapist is defined by my commitment to authenticity and my belief that powerful healing can occur in the context of being seen, valued, cared for, and challenged in a supportive therapeutic relationship. I see myself as a partner in supporting you to find healing and achieve your goals. My goal is to be responsive and attentive to your needs, while also providing new tools, skills, and insights (including candid feedback) that will help you to make the changes you want for yourself. Even though there will be times I push you outside of what feels comfortable, I will do everything I can to respect your right to set limits and to honor you in working at the pace and intensity of work that feels right to you. I practice from the perspective that “under the right circumstances, the brain heals itself.” I aim to help you find and create the circumstances that will best allow you to heal and live a life of authenticity and fulfillment – whatever that looks like for you.

I understand that you (just like all the rest of us humans in the world) are impacted not only by your thoughts, feelings, and desires, but also by your biology, culture, past experiences, and the society in which you exist, so you can be sure that I will be taking these factors into account in our work together and that we'll talk about them.
