About My Clients
I work with mainly teens and adults. I specialize in working with individuals with trauma histories, neurodivergent individuals, and LGBT+ individuals. I have worked with individuals experiencing ADHD, ASD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other co-occurring disorders. Many of my clients come to therapy seeking to better understand themselves, exploring behavior and thought patterns, beliefs and values, and outside influences/internalized beliefs (i.e. internalized misogyny and/or homophobia).
My Background and Approach
I am a Clinically/Independently Licensed Social Worker with bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Human & Family Development and a Master of Social Work. I have worked with community resources and nonprofit organizations that serve individuals with trauma, as well in local high schools. I work to provide therapy that is individualized and historically and socially informed. I utilize a client- and environment- focused approach which allows me to center my clients and their world, acknowledging that no one lives in a vacuum. This allows me to incorporate my clients' community into their treatment, utilizing all my clients' resources and strengths.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that compassion and collaboration are essential to therapy. I seek to provide informed empathy to my clients. I believe anyone brave enough to ask for help should be able to get it and that it is important that we the providers be as diverse and varied as our clients.
