About My Clients
ATTENTION YOUNG ADULTS, COUPLES, and TEENS: Does it feel like painful experiences of the past are still impacting you? Is it hard to connect with others, communicate effectively, and feel safe in relationships? Do you feel stuck in the same pattern? Does all of this confusion and hurt leave you with feelings of shame, depression, anxiety, and fear? When we experience trauma or life challenges, it can feel like we’re in a cycle of suffering. I can help.
My Background and Approach
In my work I focus on helping teens, adults, and couples create the safety, joy, and calm that feels outside of their grasp. To help people on their healing journey, we'll work together using a compassionate and honest approach. It is my belief that in a supportive and honest therapeutic relationship, the wounds of the past can be healed in the present. From there, unresolved life difficulties can be processed and change can occur. Together, we will look at what is causing and maintaining your struggles and we will work on changing these patterns to create a better life. This may include creating strategies to cope with difficulties, implementing skills to manage difficult feelings, and working together to see what changes need to occur to help you reach your fullest potential. Everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling life and you deserve some peace. Thank you for your courage in reaching out.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is my belief that clients and therapists need to work together to create a safe and healing environment. It has been shown time and time again that the core factor in whether or not therapy will be successful is the therapeutic relationship. Because of this, I work in a collaborative way with my client. You are the expert on your life and I'm the specialist in therapy. We'll use our combined knowledge and experience to create a plan to get you where you want to go. I believe that ignoring social justice issues in the therapy room would be a disservice to my clients. I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ Community, support BLM, and discuss both visible and invisible disabilities and the impact these have on our mental health.
