About My Clients
At any point in your lifetime, you may experience challenges with feeling confident in your sexual being or your sexual relationships. Your sexual identity may change as you age or after difficult life transitions or threatening illness. Raising a family and maintaining a long-term relationship can wreak havoc on our sense of desire and arousal. Low arousal, anxiety and stress can lead to painful sex and erectile difficulties. Many of our sexual challenges are natural parts of our evolving.
My Background and Approach
While my graduate studies focused on systems theory and all of the stuff relationships are made of- my other studies zoned in on our sexuality, in all of its diverse splendor. However, in recent years, I have focused much of my development on modern analytic training to dig deeper into unconscious and conscious emotions influencing our thinking and behaviors. I tend to look for strengths, ask open-ended questions, and gently explore underlying thoughts and feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an adopted child, I spent most of my life feeling like an "other." Some of my diversity is passable though still impacts how I move in the world. This and my love for humankind have made my focus in life to work with marginalized populations, particularly as related to the color of our skin, the gender we affirm, and the differences in our culture, bodies, age, religion, and sexuality.
