About My Clients
I offer therapy for adults struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, LGBTQIA+ issues, adult neurodiversity, and gender & identity exploration. I also help clients learn to feel their emotions in their bodies, rather than remain stuck in the trap of over-thinking. In our work together, we will focus on the internal, relational, and systemic factors that may be blocking you from being your most authentic self.
My Background and Approach
I received my masters in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University and have been practicing as a therapist since 2019. Prior to working in mental health, I worked as an advocate for the unhoused population in non-profit spaces. I also spent time writing and facilitating trainings in the NYC tech start-up world. These experiences gave me unique insight into the impact of high-pressure work cultures, burnout, and oppressive inequality under capitalism. My experience as a therapist includes working primarily with queer adult and adolescent individuals as well as couples. I use a person-centered approach that utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe an anti-oppressive framework grounded in principles of abolition and communal healing is crucial to holistic therapeutic work. While my work is informed by the various aspects of my identity, I also recognize the lived experiences of others in the LGBTQ2IA+ community are immensely diverse. You are the expert of your experience, and I celebrate the unique wisdom you will bring to our work together. Therapy is a partnership. Together we will create a space that fosters healing, exploration, and growth through the use of humor, directness, and honesty.
