About My Clients
I know what it’s like to struggle, to be unsure of yourself and your relationships, to feel stuck. At my practice, I work with teens and adults grappling with loneliness and relationship issues, life transitions, and a lack of confidence and meaning in their lives. Despite their challenges, my clients are strong and courageous, and I'm humbled by the resiliency I've seen in each of them. My goal is to help you learn how to better help yourself, and I'm confident we can do this together.
My Background and Approach
Having been in therapy, I know what it’s like to be a client and to feel hopeless, overwhelmed, or stuck. In our work, I'll leverage this as well as my clinical training and experience to tailor our therapeutic process to your unique needs. I position myself as a relational therapist, meaning we'll use our relationship to better understand how you view yourself and others, and we’ll collaborate to modify any beliefs, patterns of behavior, or ways of relating that get in the way of your living more of the life you want. Our process may involve assertiveness training, exploring the past's impact on your present, or examining how certain emotions lead to you feeling dysregulated or out of control. However we work and whatever approach we take, I will provide you a safe and respectful space for you to better understand yourself, heal, and move forward
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Regardless of your reasons for seeking therapy, I believe every individual possesses inherent value and the capacity to navigate life's obstacles. I also reject the notion you or anyone else is irreparably damaged or in need of being "fixed." Instead, I believe our distress often originates from influences beyond our control, such as societal norms, family history, and biological factors. While therapy cannot resolve all these complex matters, I believe we can change how you relate to yourself and others, which can improve your self-esteem, sense of hope, and overall outlook on life. Having been in therapy myself, I understand the value of a safe and trusting therapeutic partnership, and I, above all else, want to provide you with a place to anchor and eventually grow from in whatever manner is right for you.
