Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina

About My Clients

I work with adults of all ages with a variety of presenting issues, and have a special interest in experiences associated with bicultural individuals, marginalized populations, racial trauma, anxiety-based disorders, communication skills, and identity in general. While I have an eclectic group of clients, most of the individuals identify as: bicultural, educators, trans, BIPOC, have OCD or anxiety, and/or college students.

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Board Certified Telemental Health provider and Clinical Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional with over 15 years of experience in counseling, teaching, and program development in colleges and schools. I received a master’s degree in 2005 from North Carolina State University in counselor education with a focus on college students. I later earned a PhD from NCSU in counseling and researched identity processes of bicultural individuals whose parents immigrated to the US. As both a counselor and educator, I believes in the concept of “teach a person to fish.” Therefore, I share specific techniques to empower clients to lead independent, yet interconnected lives. My counseling philosophy is Awaken, Expand, Transform. Using that basis, I help clients examine their current circumstances, expand the world of possibilities, and transform their experiences into intentional, meaningful living.
