I specialize in working with people who are ready to be less stressed and overwhelmed. Just because stress and anxiety are incredibly common doesn't mean anyone needs to be stuck in those states. What might you You can be successful without suffering, and you can show up for all the important parts of your life while still taking care of yourself.
My Background and Approach
Together, we'll explore what hasn’t been working for you and figure out subtle shifts that can help you feel more at ease and move forward with more clarity. We'll use the best of traditional talk therapy approaches along with mind-body techniques to help you feel more clear, connected, and calm. My approach prioritizes both 1. developing tools to make life easier now, and 2. learning from and resolving stressful situations that have made life difficult.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that conditions like anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic pain are no one person's fault. We struggle with mental health concerns because we live in a culture that's deeply stressful and that sets most of us up in ways that can make thriving difficult. Once we understand the context that keeps us from thriving, we have the ability to respond to our condition differently and find the way toward a healthier life. I love working with people from all backgrounds. I'm a queer woman who became passionate about justice and equity issues when I was in college. I focused on women and gender studies, queer studies, socioeconomic oppression, and theory emphasizing intersectionality. This framework continues to inform my experience and my work with clients.
