About My Clients
Adult children that come from dysfunctional families often come in therapy carrying the weight of years of self-doubt, depression, and an overwhelming sense of being trapped. Through our dedicated work together, we have managed to chip away at those negative self-images, piece by piece. Clients are able to discover their intrinsic worth that was always there but buried beneath layers of self-criticism, and learn to embrace self-compassion and acceptance.
My Background and Approach
Many of my clients come from backgrounds of neglect or abuse, where love felt conditional, leading to a belief that they must constantly prove their worth. What sets my therapy practice apart is my genuine empathy and curiosity about my clients’ experiences. They often describe feeling truly heard, understood, and validated during our sessions. I specialise in working with individuals who struggle with anxious or avoidant attachment styles, which can lead to interpersonal conflicts. By addressing the root of these attachment wounds, we pave the way for healthier, more fulfilling relationships. In just two months of working together, I’ve witnessed clients transform from feelings of depression and confusion to newfound clarity and hope. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist specialising in adult children of dysfunctional families, I bring a deeply empathetic and personal understanding to the healing journey. Just like many of my clients, I was once a highly-sensitive child whose emotions were often misunderstood and invalidated. My own healing path inspired me to break the generational cycle and discover my true self. One of the most valuable shifts I've witnessed in my clients is the realisation of their own inherent worth, not tied to external achievements. Through inner child healing, we validate their past experiences and cultivate a deeper understanding of the "why" behind their behaviours. From this place of self-awareness and self-compassion, we harness their existing strengths and resources to collaboratively identify solutions and set meaningful goals.
