Anxiety is your brain's way of letting you know when you are in danger. With chronic anxiety, your brain is telling you there is danger even when there is not. As a result of my own journey in healing chronic pain and symptoms, I have specialized training in pain reprocessing therapy and other techniques to help you rewire your brain and nervous system to turn off pain signals. Much like chronic anxiety, most chronic pain is your brain sending out a danger signal even when your body is safe. The paradigm shift can be difficult but with the right information and tools, healing is very very possible. I'd love to teach you how.

As someone who is trans and queer identified, I understand the importance of finding a provider with lived experience in this area. As a therapist, I have been working with trans and queer clients for over 15 years. I understand the unique needs of trans and queer clients and am well suited to help you address whatever issues you are facing, in whatever life phase you may be in.

My degree is in marriage and family therapy, which is a systems approach to treating clients. Although I no longer do relationship therapy, I find the systems approach to be important and beneficial in all therapeutic relationships. Instead of looking at you in isolation, I aim to understand you from within the family and social systems in which you were raised.

I am trained in EMDR and use it and other approaches to help clients who have experienced acute traumas. While EMDR is not for everyone, it's often a great and effective approach to working through acute and shock traumas. I prefer other modalities to address attachment wounds and traumas.

I have been trained in DBT since 2009 and while I no longer run groups, I find that DBT skills are beneficial to just about anyone. I often bring in DBT skills to my sessions and find them useful with people who are learning to regulate their emotions.
