As much education or services are child geared, mine is to help the adult understand their supports and what they need. To help adults understand their diagnosis if new, gain social skills, and advocate for themselves. This is not about changing who the person is or stopping behaviors such as stimming. But to aid adults in day to day functioning and get perspectives on feelings they might not understand.

Personality Disorders come in different variants. These are not to be feared, but the person who has one to understand exactly what is happening. Using DBT as a way to help regulate emotions and gain insight into what triggers could be causing the reactions they have. Personality disorders are not one size fits and treatment is tailored to the person as each thing should be.
